Die große Berichterstattung mit allem drum und dran mach ich natürlich drüben, auch featuring Review, aber wenigstens erwähnen muss ich Joss Whedons gerade das Internet unsicher machendes fürs-Netz-gemachte-Supervillain-Musical Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog schon hier auch. Gehet und staunet, Teil 1ist schon online. Teil 2 folgt morgen, Teil3 am Samstag, und ab Sonntag ist schon wieder Schluss mit gratis-Stream, dann heißt's warten auf die DVD mit gesungenen Kommnetaren. Yeah, you heard that right.

True Blood

Ich war ja doch eher enttäuscht vom True Blood-Piloten, einzig Brook Kerr als Tara (oder sollte ich sie lieber "Original Cindy" nennen?) gefiel mir gut. Die Prämisse wirkte ja einerseits cool (dass Vampire ihr coming out haben, ist längst überfällig), andererseits zu gebackgrounded gegen eine (Buffy-inspirierte?) Liebesstory, die tatsächlich, wie von so vielen behauptet, nicht gut aussieht, nicht funktioniert, nicht interessiert. Das war dann doch zu wenig um die Spannung aufrecht zu halten.

Jetzt hat Alan Ball "zugegeben": "I personally have never seen Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Angel. I'm not really a big vampire fan. This was really my first." Well, then. Auf zum großen 1997-Revival (in blöd).

Und ich dachte, wir hätten The Dark Knight schon overgehyped:

Without giving anything away, this is an epic film (and trust me: based on the sheer size and scope of the visuals and storytelling, thats not an overstatement). Its the Godfather II of comic book films and three times more earnest than Batman Begins (and fuck, was that an earnest film). Easily the most adult comic book film ever made. Heath Ledger didnt so much give a performance as he disappeared completely into the role; I know Im not the first to suggest this, but hell likely get at least an Oscar nod (if not the win) for Best Supporting Actor. Fucking flicks nearly three hours long and only leaves you wanting more (in a great way). I cant imagine anyone being disappointed by it. Nolan and crew have created something close to a masterpiece.

The Tunguska Event, or Tunguska explosion, was a massive explosion that occurred near the Podkamennaya (Lower Stony) Tunguska River in what is now Krasnoyarsk Krai of Russia, at around 7:14 a.m.(0:14 UT, 7:02 a.m. local solar time) on June 30, 1908 (June 17 in the Julian calendar, in use locally at the time).

The explosion was most likely caused by the air burst of a large meteoroid or comet fragment at an altitude of 510 kilometres (36 miles) above Earth's surface. Different studies have yielded varying estimates for the object's size, with general agreement that it was a few tens of metres across.

Although the meteor or comet burst in the air rather than directly hitting the surface, this event is still referred to as an impact. Estimates of the energy of the blast range from 5 megatons to as high as 30 megatons[5] of TNT, with 1015 megatons the most likely - about 1000 times as powerful as the bomb dropped on Hiroshima, Japan and about one third the power of the Tsar Bomba, the largest nuclear weapon ever detonated. The explosion knocked over an estimated 80 million trees over 2,150 square kilometres (830 square miles). It is estimated that the earthquake from the blast would have measured 5.0 on the Richter scale, which was not yet developed at the time. An explosion of this magnitude is capable of destroying a large metropolitan area.

Then, in postproduction, make what is necessarily unreal as real as possible. "Anything you notice as technology reminds you that you're in a movie theater," Nolan explains. "Even if you're trying to portray something fantastical and otherworldly, it's always about trying to achieve invisible manipulation." Especially, he adds, with Batman, "the most real of all the superheroes, who has no superpowers."
