K.C. Accidental: Residential Love Song

Ein History-Track muss auch sein. Denn K.C. Accidental waren Kevin Drew und Charles Spearin. "Anthems For The Could've Been Pills" war ihr erstes Album. Darauf finden sich u.a. Jason Collett, Evan Cranley, Emily Haines und James Shaw. "Anthems..." hat auf dem Artwork die ersten sechs Tracks frei, bevor die sechs tatsächlichen Nummern folgen (eine Lücke, die mit dem umgekehrten Artwork von 03-er-Nachfolger "Captured Anthems for an Empty Bathtub" gefüllt wurde). "Anthems..." hat mit dem "Residential Love Song" den unschlagbaren Beweis, wie dieses engelhafte Pendel zwischen Laut und Leise, diese epischen Weiten und vernichtenden Gefühle, diese großkleine Großkleindesaster namens "kanadischer Postrock" eine kleine Laune für Popmusik entwickeln konnte. Ein zufälliges Schnuppern im Shoegaze hier, Liebäugeln mit Indierock da. Die Laune wurde größer. Eine Jahr nach "Anthems..." nahmen Kevin Drew und Charles Spearin zusammen mit ihrer kleinen Knickerbockerbande "Feel Good Lost" auf. Und noch ein Jahr später stand die kanadische Welt kopf und sang "All your kind, they're coming clean. They shut their eyes, their mess, their scenes. All your kind, their spool and lines, their crash, their kiss, they harmonize. All your kind they're, all your kind they're, all your kind they're coming clean. They sleep through keys, they kill their needs, it's kill..."
