Guinness World Records even listed Graham's number as the World Champion largest number. It is too large to be written in scientific notation because even the digits in the exponent would exceed the number of atoms in the observable universe so it needs its own special notation (G) to write down.
Edit: Man beachte auch das und das : "Indeed, one could define science as reason’s attempt to compensate for our inability to perceive big numbers.".
